We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hi there! We’re the Ness Family!
Maggie currently works full time for the Denver Support Center as a specialist. Zach is attending the John Paul II Pontifical Institute in DC pursuing his masters in theology in Marriage and Family studies. We love being on mission as a family.
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from glory into glory, even by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor 3:18)
God has called me to stay in FOCUS for my fourth year. After two incredible years on campus at the University of Maryland, I am excited to love more locally in my community and still get to serve this incredible apostolate in a different way. I will be a missionary for missionaries! I am continuing to serve in the Denver Support Center, FOCUS’s headquarters. Specifically, I will be on mission as a specialist on the Staff Care and Internal Communications teams within the human resources department. I took advantage of many of the HR resources we had while I was on campus and I am excited to give back in this way. On-campus missionaries have lives that require them to be ALL IN and the support FOCUS offers its employees is unmatched in reverence and compassion. I’m blessed to be able to work remotely so we can live in Springfield, VA so Zach can commute more easily to his classes in DC.
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ and allow them to encounter His deep and personal love for them. It is this very love of Christ that, when accepted humbly, becomes an all consuming and transformative fire in our souls. A FOCUS missionary in college encouraged me to surrender to this love. Giving Jesus that “yes” changed my college experience, and giving Him the “yes” to bring Him and His love to the whole world changed my life.
I truly want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the same life-changing message of the Gospel I encountered in college. I have found peace and joy working for FOCUS. There is no joy like the joy that can be found in sharing the Gospel! At this point in my life I could not picture doing anything else!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. What a truly beautiful gift to not be self-reliant but to be invited to more fully trust the Lord and His plan for me! I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. But I can’t serve on campus alone. If you desire to partner with me in this universal call holiness and mission, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you and to bring your heart with me wherever I go. For “where your treasure is, there your heart will also be” (Mt 6:21)
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
