We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am a second year missionary at Samford University as part of the UAB/Samford team in Birmingham, AL.
I was raised Catholic by two loving, faithful parents. Although I had a love for Christ, I often perceived my Catholic faith as a set of rules to avoid damnation, rather than a relationship to be live through.
When I entered college at Mississippi State University (MSU), I broke my habit of regularly attending Sunday Mass and became a self-proclaimed “cafeteria Catholic” (picking and choosing which Catholic doctrine I subscribed to).
During my sophomore year, I met Alex, a FOCUS missionary at MSU. She invited me to attend her Bible study, and that encounter changed the trajectory of my life. A year after I started attending, I went to FOCUS’s SEEK conference, where I truly repented and was receptive to the Lord’s mercy and love for the first time in years. Alex then invited me into discipleship, where she challenged and taught me how to make Christ the center of my life every day.
We are all called to pursue mission as part of Jesus’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Pope Paul VI stated, “Evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity.”
While we are all called to mission, not everyone can drop everything to preach the Gospel. With your financial support and prayers, you can join me in this mission and participate in the Great Commission.
Thanks to your generosity and the grace of God, I can live this mission in a radical way and bring Christ more fully into the lives of these women.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
