“The Catholic Church deplores a double slavery: that of the mind and that of the body. She endeavors to free us both… she is the Church for our people” – Venerable Augustus Tolton
I am honored to say that I will be a Missionary at The Howard University! I am so grateful for this opportunity, as this is the first historically black college/university to ever have Focus on their campus. Thanks Be To God
As a missionary, I desire to lead and guide students to Christ. I saw how the Lord transformed my life through college and I aspire that for every student by introducing them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. For me at the beginning of my freshman year, I was struggling a lot mentally, and didn’t make the greatest decisions. However, a lot of things changed in my life once I met a student just from a simple game of basketball. I got connected, invited to a bible study, and afterwards, it sparked a lot of curiosity about the Catholic Church for me, so it led me to me doing a deep dive on the Church. In the midst of doing that, I started to build virtuous friendships amongst the students in the student center, and went to SEEK for the first time, and from there I was starstruck by Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Some time later, it led to an inner conversion, and I ended up entering the Catholic Church at the beginning of my sophomore year of college. From there, I recognized the Lord was calling me to lead and walk with others while in college, and throughout my time in college, I became the sponsor of two men, taught catechesis to the high schoolers at our parish, and walked with many college students in and outside of bible study. Before the end of my senior year, I applied for FOCUS and became a FOCUS Missionary.
Needless to say: Jesus taught me a few things: that I belong and have a purpose in life. I want to help share the Good News with every student who believes they don’t belong or feel lost to show them they are worthy of that same love from Our Lord.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
