We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey there! My name’s Dani, and I’m a third-year missionary!
“It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you.” –St. JPII
God has called me to serve college students, specifically student-athletes at Emporia State University in Kansas…. I am excited to be returning for another year! I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life and continues to draw me deeper in relationship– come find me and I’d love to share it with you and hear your story… Ollie (the best doggo) and I can’t wait to meet you! 🙂
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to become a saint and to lead all students to relationship with Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel.
Being a student-athlete is an incredible privilege, and it provides unique opportunities to draw near to God without even realizing it, through the hard practices, mountain-top victories, and countless virtues built. I know I would not be who I am today without my time in gymnastics. Similarly, I would not have the relationship I have with Christ if not for the FOCUS missionaries who modeled the love and joy of Christ to me throughout my years in college. Through their witness, I began to recognize a longing for something more than this world– and any of its successes– could offer. Through the grace of God, He slowly revealed His truth, beauty, and goodness to me, and invited me to learn what He says about me and what my identity is in Him, which goes beyond my performance in the gym, classroom, or life. He ultimately brought me home to His Catholic Church (shout-out to any other converts out there)!! God continues to draw me deeper and invite me into freedom that can only be found in Him.
I am well aware that so many seeds can be planted during the formative time of college. I especially feel drawn to student-athletes with whom I deeply relate, as I have lived in their shoes in the gym/court/field, and I pray my story will be an encouragement to them. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world.
I can’t do this alone! When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to leave my accounting job and to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me or want to learn more, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. -Ephesians 4:1-2

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
