Hey! My name’s Rachel. I’m blessed to be a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

I spent the first five years of my time on staff serving at Iowa State University. I am currently in my fourth year as a Regional Director with FOCUS. In this role, I work with several campuses, including Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan University, Wayne State University in Detroit, Oakland University, Central Michigan University, the University of Iowa, and Drake University.

I am in my ninth year with FOCUS and currently reside in Ankeny, Iowa, while working remotely for the FOCUS Denver Support Center. I get married August 9th in 2025. Please pray for Nicholas and I as we prepare for marriage!

My Story

My initial involvement in FOCUS was a simple invite to bible study and to a retreat about the Holy Spirit. I left my first retreat knowing that the Lord was calling me to give up a life of selfishness and that I desired to know Him more. I struggled with how to make the Lord apart of my everyday life instead of just having incredible retreat experiences. It was my Junior Year of college at the University of South Dakota when I met a FOCUS Missionary who really taught me how to pray with scripture, fall in love with the sacraments, and share with others how the Lord worked in my life.

Jesus Christ invites me to lay my life down for the Church daily and more specifically as a Regional Director accompanying missionaries in Michigan and South Dakota. As a missionary, I get to remind the missionaries I serve and college students I meet of our Lord’s personal love for them. I get to share with them the good news that Jesus Christ desires a personal relationship with all people. This truth continues to bring me joy that I desire to share with others.
