We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Who except God can give you peace? Has the world ever been able to satisfy the heart?”
St. Gerard Majella
My name is Angie, and I am a first-year missionary at UW-Stevens Point! Roll Dawgs!
I grew up Catholic, but what I knew about the Church in my head hadn’t yet made its way to my heart. I did not know my true identity as God’s beloved daughter until I went to college and got involved with FOCUS. The FOCUS missionaries at the University of Toledo recognized my yearning to be seen, known, and loved by the Lord, but I did not know how to find the answer to this yearning. Through time spent in bible studies and discipleship with the missionaries, I was launched into a new life where I knew about Jesus’ infinite and perfect love. I began praying every day and attending daily mass where my own love for the Lord grew exponentially. My life could never be the same!
During my last two years of college, I started recognizing the same spiritual poverty that I had previously experienced within my fellow students. So many young college students are lonely, depressed, and do not have hope for the future. Most people who leave the Catholic faith leave before the age of 23. How different could a person’s life be if they were simply invited to know Jesus?
“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.”
Mother Teresa
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. God bless you!
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.” Mt 28:19.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
