We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”
– Isaiah 43:1
GO BEARS! 🐻 I’ll be serving at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO!
Growing up, my Catholic faith was important to me, but it wasn’t the center of my life until college. I went to Fort Hays State University, and by the grace of God, I came across the Catholic Campus Center. My freshman year was one of the hardest years, as it was still COVID, and there was a lot of isolation. Often, when I felt alone, I would just go sit with Jesus and pray. There was a peace in that chapel I couldn’t find anywhere else on campus. I was also blessed to join a bible study, which gave me great community and allowed me to ask deeper questions about God.
The next year, I encountered a FOCUS missionary who walked with me, taught me how to pray even deeper, showed me authentic friendship, and reminded me of my goodness. Through bible study, prayer, daily Mass, adoration, and confession, I became aware of Jesus’ healing love and mercy. I came to know Him as my father and my friend. Throughout the rest of my college years, He continued to tend to my heart by leading me closer to His, and teaching me my belovedness as His daughter. There is nothing I can do to earn His love, and there is nothing I can do to lose it. He loves each of us for the core of who we are. “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” – 1 John 3:1.
Towards my senior year, I knew I wanted to graduate with my degree, but my heart wanted to go on mission. I accepted a position as the Development Director at the Comeau Catholic Campus Center in Hays and worked there for two years, my first year while I finished my degree. Those two years opened my heart and eyes to mission, and I became aware of the deeper need in these students’ hearts.
During the SEEK ’25 conference, surrounded by 17,000 college-age students, being a FOCUS missionary was placed on my heart. I discerned where the Lord was leading me, specifically praying, “Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears” (Psalm 23:1). Through prayer and surrender, it was evident He was calling me to be a missionary! My greatest desire is for others to encounter Jesus Christ and place Him at the center of their lives. I am honored and overjoyed to walk with college students, meet them where they are, lead them to the Heart of the Father, and remind them that they are seen, known, and loved.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. Some give by going on mission, some go on mission by giving. I truly cannot do this mission without you! If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you, and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
