We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Howya! My name’s Brendan. I’m a FOCUS missionary serving with my beautiful wife Alanna and daughter.
We serve at University College Cork (UCC), in Ireland. We’re very excited to be serving and following the LORD in the south of Ireland bringing as many students to Heaven.
Well it began on Ash Wednesday 2018 in UCD as I attended the evening Mass (arriving fairly late). I’d been raised Catholic, believed in God but just didn’t take my faith seriously. That Ash Wednesday after Mass I’d decided to stay and pray because I felt guilty for showing up late for such an important day. While waiting I’d heard “Instead of giving up something, why not try taking up something” “Join a bible study”. Well, I thought to myself why not, I like the bible, I liked it as a child, wouldn’t hurt anyone to join, I might learn something. I never realised until now what such a small and harmless YES to God can do to your life. It completely transformed mine. I became connected to FOCUS from that day on and have just come to truly see and know God is real and that I needed to give my full life to Him. Thankfully through the help and guidance of the FOCUS missionaries on campus, I’ve come to know and love Jesus. Our call now is to witness the beauty of family life to UCC and inspire others to follow God’s will in the vocation they’re called too.
I believe that the Gospel is for everybody and that everybody would be left with a clear YES or NO situation if proclaimed and witnessed correctly. I believe students deserve this choice but more than that are begging internally for this choice. My impact is actually very small but Christ’s can be extraordinary. So I live with the conviction that as long as I try and give everything I have for Christ in this mission, He will provide.
Your support will allow me to
-Lead Bible studies
-Help students encounter Jesus Christ
-Help men become true and authentic leaders
-Help raise the future leaders of the Church
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
