We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! We are the Hawkins family and we’re excited you have found our page. We live in Spokane, Washington serving the Lord in our mission through FOCUS to “make disciples of all nations.” Carter is serving as a Priest Accompianment Director and he will be walking with priests from around the country in building up missionary disciples through their priesthood to reach those in their parish and beyond. Lesley-Anne is home with our three children living lifelong mission in our parish and our city. The Lord has transformed our lives and we cannot wait to see what He will do next!
Carter – I am serving as a Priest Accompianment Director, which is a new position within FOCUS. I will be piloting our efforts to help priests live as missionary disciples themselves through formation, accompianment, and friendship. My mission field will stretch the entire country as I work to build up small groups of priests who are intentionally persuing sanctity and evangelization. My role will be to support them in their efforts, offer coaching in mission skills, and walk with them through the difficulties and joys of daily life as a priest. I am really excited to see the impact this will have on the Church and what the Lord is going to do through this new venture. Please pray for these men that I will be working with!
Lesley-Anne – I am serving our parish here in Spokane and investing in the women I have become friends with throughout our city. I am currently a full-time mom for our two daughters (and third child on the way), leading a bible study, and walking with several women in missionary discipleship formation. I am excited to be living my missionary call in my community and walking with women in encountering Our Lord in a deeper way.
We both have experienced radical conversions in our life; Lesley during her time at CU-Boulder as a freshman and Carter at Auburn University as a senior. Prior to our conversions, we were both living as typical college students. We desired great things, but these things were centered on ourselves. After we encountered Christ, our desires shifted. We saw the love and mercy of God working in our lives and want to share our story with others. We believe Jesus Christ is the answer to the longings of the human heart and have oriented our lives to proclaim that truth.
We met while serving on a mission trip to Peru. We became great friends, but did not start dating until many months later. After several years of a long distance relationship, we were married in August 2018 and welcomed our first child the following year. We then moved to Spokane and welcomed our second child in 2021. In August 2023, we will welcome our third baby into this world. As we continue to deepen our love for the Lord and for each other, we are blown away by the grace that is bestowed upon us by our Father in Heaven.
We cannot do this alone. God has called our family to live as missionaries living out Matthew 28:18-20. We desire to give everything to Him and to follow His Will. In order the do this, we need your support. Just as St. Paul was supported by the various peoples, we ask that you join us as mission partners in building the kingdom one soul at a time. If this mission is intriguing to you or you share our passion, please reach out to us and let us know. We would love to sit down and talk. You will be in our prayers!
“We do not want…a Church that will move with the world. We want a Church that will move the world.” ~GK Chesterton
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
