We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Holiness does not consist in doing extraordinary things. It consists in accepting, with a smile, what Jesus sends us. It consists in following the will of God.”
– St. Josemaría Escrivá
I am so grateful that God has called me to serve as a missionary at Boise State University! I am excited to encounter students and to learn their stories. By the grace of God, I hope to help students foster a relationship with Christ and help them recognize that they are seen, known, and loved!
I was born and raised Catholic in Seattle, WA. I come from a big family of 11 that is still continuing to grow. Spring of 2025, I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Electrical Engineering. My dad is a supernumerary for Opus Dei, so a lot of my faith formation came from the teachings of St. Josemaría Escrivá. So from an early age, I knew that there was a way to make ordinary work a form of prayer and a way to glorify God.
In college, especially in Seattle, it is incredibly easy to become lukewarm or fall away from the faith. Going into college, I had a lot of surface level knowledge about God, but I did not have a relationship with Him. I wasn’t even aware that it was possible to form an intimate relationship with God. If God had not worked through the ministry at the Newman Center at the University of Washington, it is very likely that I would have fallen away.
Throughout college, my heart was transformed by God’s love through the student ministry at the Newman Center. I fostered friendships that showed me a glimpse of God’s unconditional love for us. It was clear that these friends rooted their identity in God, as His children. In being loved well, I learned how to love and my heart was set on fire for Christ. Because I have been loved well through ministry, I continue to love well through serving in ministry, inviting others to enter into a relationship with God. I did this very directly as a Peer Minister at the University of Washington, which ultimately lead me to FOCUS, so I could continue serving college students by helping them foster good relationships that will bring them to Christ.
God desires for all His children to know Him, to have a relationship with Him. As Catholics, we know this. There are hundreds of thousands of students who haven’t had the chance to be formed by virtuous friendships, friendships and community that will bring them to God, who is Love Himself. God has called us to share the gifts that He has given us to build up His Church, to bring people to Him so that they may have full confidence that they are loved, full confidence in their identity as God’s beloved, and to receive the fullness of life. You can change lives through your gifts and your support–let’s build up God’s Kingdom!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
