We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I have the honor of serving at our Denver Support Center as Sr Manager of Recruitment and East Area Lead. The Recruitment Team is the galvanizing force behind FOCUS’s hiring and expansion efforts. I will be walking alongside Campus Missionaries, guiding their students through the discernment process of joining FOCUS. With big dreams of expanding to many more campuses, our goal is to hire a significant number of more missionaries. This year, FOCUS will serve full-time on 211 college campuses across the United States. Praise the Lord! However, even though exciting, that represents only 8% of all four-year colleges and universities in America. If we are truly to reach every campus and every soul for Christ, we have important work ahead!
Before transferring to the Recruitment Team, I spent three years at the Denver Support Center as manager of FOCUS Greek, and three years as an on-campus missionary. I was placed at the University of North Dakota for my first two years on staff, and moved to Minnesota State – Mankato to be the team director for my third year.
Coming into college, at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, I was a lukewarm catholic. I knew faith was important but it was only reserved for Sundays and I lived a very different lifestyle every other day of the week. Going to Mass had become habitual and I was lacking in knowledge of my dignity as a daughter of God and how to have a relationship with the Lord.
The summer before my Sophomore year in college my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and my stable, comfortable life was no longer existent. Through many challenges that year, I learned to rely on the Lord and allow Him to be my rock and strength.
As the next two years unfolded, my desire to live a faith-centered life grew. I went on three mission trips, built a deep relationship with the Lord, and became a FOCUS student leader. With the help of a FOCUS missionary, I learned to pray with scripture, how to lead a bible study, and to share my faith with others.
Now, as a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel.
As a full-time missionary, I have the privilege of placing full trust in God by fundraising our entire salaries. This is the beauty of the faith – Jesus does not want us to rely on ourselves, He wants us to rely on Him for everything! In order to radically invest in our missionaries’ and therefore students lives, we cannot fulfill this call to mission alone. We need your help! By generously joining this mission, you will be accompanying us in fulfilling the great commission, winning souls for Christ, and giving hope to this world! If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you. I would be honored to share this mission with you!
