We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Without love, deeds, even the most brilliant, count as nothing.”
-St. Thérèse of Lisieux
I’m currently serving with FOCUS at Eastern Illinois University (Go Panthers)! I began my journey with FOCUS this year at the University of Minnesota-Duluth while finishing my bachelor’s degree. Now, after graduating, I’m honored to work alongside my incredible teammates Serena, Holly, and Eve at EIU! Throughout this year, I’ve grown deeply convicted that many students on campus are open, even hungry, for a relationship with Christ. Still, they’re simply waiting for someone to confidently show them the way. As Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matt 9:37). That’s why I’ve joined FOCUS on mission to share the love of God with every student I encounter and invite them into a deeper union with Christ.

The moment I stepped into the Newman Center, I felt at home. My freshman year of college was a whirlwind, and without my family or faith-filled friends, I knew I needed strong, virtuous friendships to stay rooted in Christ.
At a Welcome Week bonfire, I expected to go unnoticed. But immediately, a student approached and greeted me warmly. Before I knew it, I had been invited into a Bible study led by Noah, a FOCUS missionary. That moment marked a turning point. I encountered Christ’s love and discovered my identity as a son of God.
That encounter led me to serve as a Totus Tuus missionary, sharing the faith across the Diocese of Duluth. Later, I became president of the Newman Center, leading outreach, service, and student formation.
Each step has deepened my love for Jesus and His Church, and led me to say “yes” to becoming a FOCUS missionary. Looking back, I clearly see God’s hand and know I am called to serve.

Saying “yes” to God through FOCUS means actively participating in the mission of drawing souls to Christ. Research shows that up to 80% of young Christians fall away from their faith during college, a time when belief is often challenged, and isolation is standard. In such an environment, many students struggle to seek God on their own. That’s why a community and a faithful friend to walk with them are essential.
This mission is only possible through the generosity of mission partners. Your support helps provide for my basic needs and allows me to invest deeply in Bible studies, discipleship, and authentic relationships. I invite you to join me in leading students toward Christ. The longing for Jesus lives in every human heart. Together, let’s fan that flame into a roaring fire (2 Tim 1:6-7).

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
