After serving for three years at Troy University in Troy, Alabama and two years at Oklahoma State University as on-campus missionaries respectively, Duke and Sabrina said “yes” to the opportunity to serve the students at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. After two years at ECU, Duke now serves on the Alumni Team working on career services and alumni experiences at the FOCUS Denver Support Center in Colorado! I went to school at Southern Methodist University, and it was there that I encountered Jesus. I became passionate about my faith from the example of other Catholic men. Their joy and passion for Christ changed me; as they desired more of Christ, so did I. Taking their example, I started praying every day. Jesus started to become the center of my life, and has since filled me with His mercy and love. He has given me so much, and now I desire to share it with others. In my last two years of college, I spent much of my time evangelizing through Bible studies, FOCUS discipleship, and different ministries on campus. These things prepared me to say yes to the radical call to become a full-time FOCUS missionary.

As a previous missionary at Troy and ECU, I aimed to make disciples of all nations by reaching the students on those campuses. I am taking my greatest desire, to lead all students to Christ in the same way I was lead to Christ, to serve the 2,600+ FOCUS alumni. My life has been transformed by Jesus, and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I am constantly amazed by the different souls I encounter. With Sabrina’s support as my spouse, I work to be the hands and feet of Christ to connect and strengthen the Body of Christ through forming and equipping FOCUS alumni to live out their mission as disciples of Jesus.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
