We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
FOCUS has recently expanded to UCC in Cork, Ireland and I have been asked to serve there as my first assignment! This will be a big change from Lincoln, Nebraska, but I know that the Lord desires to heal a lot of hearts in Ireland, and I am honored to be a witness to that as I enter into this mission.
After rediscovering Christ’s love and the healing found in His Church, I have been unable to do anything but share in His ministry of loving and leading others in the faith.
I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. Growing up Catholic, my family went to holy Mass on Sundays, and said our prayers. But I was simply going through the motions, and I didn’t know how to have a real and intimate relationship with Jesus. Through high school I continued to go to church on Sundays and say my prayers, but only because I knew it was something that I was supposed to do. When I began college at UNL, I began to lose my faith. Because no one else was doing it, I allowed it to begin to slip away. That is, until someone I really didn’t know invited me to mass. It was a small invitation, but it changed the trajectory of my life forever.
The men I met at mass were involved with FOCUS, and they invited me into their Bible study, into true friendship, and into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Later that same year I began to lead my own Bible study! It has been such an honor to watch this group of men grow to love Christ and share His Gospel. It is truly amazing how such a small yes can impact so many people. This is what Jesus desires for us; to give a little yes, so that He can change the world. I’m honored to be serving full time with FOCUS at UCC, and giving students those invitations to say yes to Jesus.
Luke 6:28: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
At FOCUS, we have a unique opportunity to fundraise our salaries so that we can have a team of financial and spiritual supporters, and so that we can be sent out like the disciples. God has called me to give up everything to serve His mission overseas full time. But this mission is not possible without the support of mission partners like you. If you are interested in being a part of my support team, or if you would like to hear more about my journey and mission, please let me know the best way to connect with you! I would be honored to have you with me on mission. Please pray for me and let me know how I can be praying for you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
