“I grew up Catholic—I knew the faith, but I didn’t know Jesus. No one had ever introduced us.”
That changed in high school, when I met young people who radiated something different.
They knew Jesus personally—and it showed. In their joy, their peace, their sense of purpose.
I wanted that light for myself.
When I arrived at the University of Florida for undergrad, I encountered that same light in even greater measure. But I also came face-to-face with the truth:
The world promised me happiness: through academics, a high-paying job, success … but I still felt empty.
Everything changed when I spent two summers on mission, leading teens to Christ.
I began to taste the abundant life that Jesus promises in the Gospel. I experienced healing, joy, and freedom. And I got to help others encounter that same transformation.
That’s what inspired me to become a FOCUS missionary—to walk with students who are asking the same question that once stirred my own heart:
“What do they have that I don’t?”
That question launched my pursuit of Christ—and transformed my life forever.
