The Lord has called me and my husband to the wonderful state of Nevada! I will be serving at the University of Nevada, Reno this year walking with college students in their faith journey!

I grew up Catholic going to Mass and attending a Catholic school. I very much just went through the motions and knew that God was real but didn’t really know that a relationship with Him was what we were made for. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school that I went on a Steubenville Retreat that I realized this truth. It was then that I started to grow in my relationship with the Lord and I started to lead bible studies and lead events put on by our campus ministry team and pour into those around me.

Once I went to college it was really hard for me to get involved and be as bold in my faith. The fears and anxieties took control over my life and made me to shy away. I joined a bible study and still went to Mass but wasn’t experiencing all that the Lord had in store for me. It wasn’t until I reconnected with the FOCUS missionary that led my first bible study that I began to be pursued and pushed in my faith. It was my senior year of college that I finally said yes to leading a bible study and leading girls in discipleship, and wow what a joy it has brought to my life!  The way the Lord blessed my yes and gave me an abundant joy of getting to know these girls and getting to walk in their faith journey with them. It is something I will always be thankful for. It led me to continue to grow in my faith and learn what my yes to the Lord really looks like. Which then guided me to saying yes to the Lord in calling me to FOCUS because what I truly am passionate about is leading others to Him.

Through my story I learned how influential it is to have a community of people around you to lift you up and help you in your faith. I was lucky enough to have great mentors and people pursuing me and pushing me in high school and college. My hope is to be that for my students, because we are not meant to go through this journey alone:)
