I live in Overland Park, KS, with my wife Kelsey and our four children. My roles in FOCUS are Director of Priest Accompaniment and FOCUS Music Director. As Director of Priest Accompaniment, I equip priests to have a basic framework of evangelization and discipleship as the foundation of their Parish.  I do this by leading small groups of 3-4 priests through FOCUS’ discipleship curriculum. I seek to encourage and empower them to live that model in their Parish by making disciples first themselves. Through their witness, they build generations of missionary disciples in their Parish who are trained to make disciples. As FOCUS Music Director, I manage all of the musical needs for the organization from SEEK to our Summer Training, and retreats. My role is to ensure that the music at every FOCUS event has a consistent liturgical vision that upholds true reverence in worship as called for by Church teaching.

Before I even thought about becoming a missionary, I desired to help people and play music.  These have been the desires of my heart for a long time.  I thought the only way I could do this, was through practicing medicine, and entertaining a crowd, at a local bar, with my guitar. As graduation neared, I was going to take a year off of school and figure out what the next steps were. A missionary named Mike, who had become a close friend, challenged me to consider becoming a missionary. It was enough to get me to attend one of the FOCUS Recruitment Weekends. From there the Lord convicted my heart of serving Him through this mission. Throughout my first 2 years of FOCUS, I encountered Jesus in a deep and powerful way. This encounter has brought so much healing, as well as a real understanding of my true identity as a son of God.  Jesus has propelled me into this mission field, challenging other men and women to seek their true identity in Christ and not settle for anything less!  Through FOCUS, God has been amazingly faithful in blessing my desires to help people in a spiritual way.  In addition, He has given me opportunities to play music at various retreats and conferences all over the country.  I was even able to record an album with the band we used for our national conferences!
