I am so excited that Jesus has invited me to return to the University of Texas at Austin as the Team Director! My team includes 6 missionaries: Amanda, Mae, Claire, Carlos, Luke and myself! Please pray for us! 

My Freshmen year of college I arrived on campus at Tulane University in New Orleans as a California surfer girl, ready for new adventures in a new city! I had no idea that the greatest adventure of all is to fall in love with Jesus Christ.

When I first got to Tulane, there were no Catholic community. We had no Newman center, FOCUS had just arrived and the last retreat had two students in attendance. I continued to go to mass on Sundays but for the most part, fell in with the secular culture of my campus and all the sins that go with it. One day, a FOCUS missionary named Megan reached out to me. She inspired me to make my faith come alive by praying daily and encouraged me to start a bible study. I invited 12 women into my bible study from my sorority and from my classes. I began to see that I was made for more. Megan modeled a life of virtue and joy that I wanted. She continued to invest in me and I became one of the leaders of our Catholic community, teaching other students what I had learned. My Senior year, we had 22 student led bible studies, almost over 100 people coming on our retreat each semester, service projects and tons of students showing up to daily mass and daily adoration. We had to start an RCIA program because of all the conversions! I know that God worked miracles on my campus through FOCUS. 

During my senior year of college, I was accepted to the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine for graduate school. I was ready to continue my education, but Jesus consistently asked me in prayer to be on mission with him as a FOCUS missionary. And so I told him “here I am Lord, I come to do your will.” I can’t wait for this next year and all the wonderful things God will do! 

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
