Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am a FOCUS missionary!

I am blessed to serve at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville! Otherwise known as SIUE!

My Story

My story started in Stephenson, Michigan. I was raised in a Catholic family, but my heart didn’t really come alive for Jesus until my time in college. During my freshman year at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan, a FOCUS missionary named Maria took the time to patiently walk with me in my journey towards Christ. She taught me to pray, to serve, and eventually, to lead a bible study!

It was truly a gift and a privilege to lead a bible study during my time at college. I loved it so much, I can’t imagine myself doing anything else!

I knew that I wanted the opportunity to serve the Lord and reach other women just like me, which led me to accepting a position with FOCUS to become a full-time missionary!

When Naseem and I answered the call to share our marriage and family life on mission with FOCUS, God invited us to depend radically on Him for spiritual and financial support through mission partners. We’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with us as we serve on campus. Working with mission partners is one of the best parts of our job!
