We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Who except God can give you peace? Has the world ever been able to satisfy the heart?“
St. Gerard Majella
From a young age, I felt the pressure of performance to be accepted and valued from coaches, teachers, and friends. I resorted to perfectionism and masking to conform to what I thought other people wanted rather than living authentically. Belonging became my idol, and I slowly lost touch with who I was and Who I was created for. Living out of this self-sufficiency led to a cycle of self-hatred and disappointment because I was always unable to meet the expectations I had placed on myself.
Finally, after receiving the Lord’s abundant mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation my senior year of high school, I removed my gaze from myself and reoriented it to Christ. A few short months later, I arrived at Mississippi State University as a freshman where I was invited by a FOCUS missionary to attend a ministry event. The community I found following this simple invitation showed me what authentic friendship looked like. It led me to encounter a love so enduring and unconditional in Jesus in the Eucharist which set me free from the chains of performance and people-pleasing.
I eventually started leading a Bible study and investing in other collegiate women more intentionally so as to bring them to the same freedom that I have experienced that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ. I made the decision to be a FOCUS missionary to live out this lifestyle full time with the hopes of bringing more souls into this relationship that offers so much, as long as we are able to trust in the mercy of the Lord, not in ourselves.
Saying “yes” to the Lord’s call on my life to be a FOCUS missionary was also an invitation to rely on other members of the Body of Christ by partnering with them in the mission on college campuses both spiritually and financially. They are an integral part of this mission – without them, I would be unable to reach students whose hearts are longing to encounter the love and mercy of Christ. I am incredibly thankful for the partnership of each one of them. If you are interested in hearing more of my story and joining me in this mission, please reach out to me either by email ([email protected]) or phone ((850) 449-0025). I would be honored to spread the Good News alongside you!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
