We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth
in my own place, while not intending it,
if I do but keep His commandments
and serve Him in my calling.”
— St. John Henry Newman
I am incredibly excited to be serving at the University of XXXXX! With my teammates [1], [2], and [3], I look forward to invigorating the culture on my campus and introducing students to a deeper relationship with Jesus through authentic, Christ-centered friendship.
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 (RSVCE)
I grew up in a devout Catholic family and surrounded by prayer. I was in Catholic school from kindergarten all the way through college where I received a lot of formation in the ways of the Church, its teachings, and its customs. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I knew a lot about Jesus, but I didn’t really have a relationship with Him. I never really prayed on my own and I always felt distant from God, who was supposedly my Lord and Savior.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me…
Psalm 34:4 (RSVCE)
At the end of high school, I was renewed in my Catholic faith and, going into college, I really sought out a personal relationship with Jesus. From going to daily Mass to starting a rosary group with my friends, I dove into prayer and the sacraments. At the same time, I was figuring out who I was and wrestling with some things in my past and places where I felt the Lord had abandoned me in my life. Early in college, I was invited by a missionary to join my first FOCUS Bible study and that led to FOCUS being a strong undercurrent throughout my whole college journey. Soon, I was asked into Discipleship and began leading my own Bible studies with friends.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
