My Story

I have had the blessing to be raised as a Catholic and attend Catholic school in Hartington, Nebraska until going to college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It wasn’t until an encounter with Jesus at a FOCUS SEEK conference that I recognized Jesus’s call to change my life and live for Him. It was here that I began to recognize all the ways I was living a life of sin that was leading me away from Him. It was here that I also realized I learned all about Jesus but I didn’t know what it was like to be in relationship with Him.

Shortly after this initial encounter, a FOCUS missionary at UNL shared the Gospel with me and began walking with me in discipleship. This encounter was truly providential as I knew I need to change my life to make Jesus the center but didn’t know how. This missionary, Julia, began walking with me in my faith journey. She taught me how to pray, deepened my love for the sacraments, filled my mind with the teachings of the Church, and invited me into life-giving fellowship.

Being walked with in discipleship changed my life and inspired me to do the same for others. That is why I am here now, giving my life to serve God as a full time missionary in order to change the lives of others in the same way my life was changed. The mission on college campuses is so vitally important as college is such a formative and pivotal time. As kids leave home, their souls are so easily led away from the faith they were born and raised in. It our mission to reach these souls and bring them back into relationship with the Lord. Making disciples of college students makes disciples of future parents, priests, religious sisters, workers, and missionaries.
