Passport Guidelines
1. When do you need a passport?
All mission trips traveling outside the United States require a valid passport.
2. Is your passport valid?
Here are four things to check to make sure your passport is valid:
1. The Six Month Rule – Your passport must remain valid for at least six months after the last day of your international trip. Ex. If your trip returns June 16th, your passport must remain valid until December 16th of that year.
2. Your Signature – You must sign the first page of your passport with your legal name.
3. Passport Damage – If any information on your passport is difficult to read or missing, you must acquire a new passport.
4. Space for Stamps – Some countries require that your passport has at least two blank pages, otherwise they may deny you entry.
3. Acquiring a new passport
If you need a passport or need to renew it, go to travel.state.gov/content/travel for the most up to date information regarding applications and renewals. Please note, it may take up to six weeks to receive your passport.
4. Disclaimer
You are fully responsible for your passport. FOCUS Missions is not responsible for you missing a trip or any portion of a trip due to any passport related issue.
