FOCUS is honored to welcome Craig Saeman as the Vice President of Philanthropy, where he will leverage his extensive experience in investment management and Catholic philanthropy to further the mission of the New Evangelization.
Craig’s deep roots in the Denver Catholic community span over four decades. His parents, John and Carol Saeman, were instrumental in supporting Catholic initiatives, serving as seed investors for FOCUS, Endow, Seeds of Hope, and ACE Scholarships. Following in their footsteps, Craig has dedicated his career to advancing faith-based organizations, including nearly six years leading the development team at Catholic Charities of Denver, where he oversaw a 50% increase in donations.
Craig and his wife, Shelly, have been passionate about the mission of FOCUS, and they credit FOCUS with playing a pivotal role in their daughter Courteney’s journey to Heaven. In 2017, she attended SEEK in San Antonio, an experience that reignited her faith and left her on fire for Christ. Upon returning home, she went to her first confession in years. Just one week later, Courteney tragically lost her life in a car accident. Though heartbreaking, her transformation affirmed for Craig and Shelly the profound impact of FOCUS in leading young people into a deep, personal relationship with Christ—one that lasts into eternity.
Having served on the FOCUS Board of Directors for five years, Craig now transitions into this leadership role to help expand the reach and mission of the apostolate. He and Shelly are active members of the Catholic community, including Legatus Denver and the Papal Foundation. They are also active in their parish, St. Vincent de Paul, and cherish time with their five children and seven grandchildren.
