We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My name is Justin Dasher, I am a missionary at Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York.
Stony Brook University has 25,000 students, thousands of which are far from Christ and in desperate need of the Gospel and YOU can help! God has already given everything for these students through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and now, with your support, I have the privilege of giving myself to help them to know Jesus and to make him known.
While I was raised in a Christian household, early on in my adult life I left the faith. I could not reconcile the brokenness I experienced in my own life with a God who was loving. I tried to find answers elsewhere but I was left deeply broken and in need of a savior.
God broke through the summer of my senior year, when a friend, after hearing of how I was hurting, said to me: “I am not surprised, I have been praying that you would never be satisfied by anything in the world.” For the first time, I felt God’s love, the way that he was using my brokenness to save me, and I came to believe that he had a call for my life.
At the time, I joined an Anglican Church and began to study and grow deeper in my faith there, as well as the ministries Nav’s and InterVarsity. But God’s story for my life was far from over and at the time I would have never predicted that on the Easter of 2024 God l would lead me to the Catholic faith. FOCUS was an integral part of my conversion. But what I have learned is that the greatest conversion is always a head of me, God continues to reveal the depths of his love, his goodness, and his plan for my life. He continues to teach me more of what it means to be a disciple and through FOCUS I have the privilege of helping others do the same.
Students across the U.S. are struggling with a lack of meaning and community. Many seek the fulfilment of those desires in the world and what it offers, and I have seen time and time again that those students come back empty, and that was my experience also. These students desperately need the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they need to encounter something more, what they were made for! The opportunity to share that with them is only possible through your support. Your giving makes it possible for me to serve God on college campuses, to speak into students lives during one of the most formative and impactful years of their lives. It would be a great privilege to share this mission with you.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
