Where I serve

I will be serving part-time at the University of Nebraska at Kearney while I student teach and prepare to graduate in December ’25. In December, I will find out where I’ll be sent on mission after graduation!

My Story

By the grace of God, I entered college with a firm faith foundation because of my parents and the domestic church that they had built. However, there were still so many more ways that Christ desired to pursue me and my heart. Because of my time spent at the St. Teresa of Calcutta Newman Center and the witness of the FOCUS Missionaries that walked alongside me throughout college, I began to truly put my identity in Christ and realize that each one of us has a universal call to holiness. I finally understand what it means to have an intimate relationship with Christ.

When Jesus hung upon the Cross, He uttered the words, I thirst. Not because he needed a drink, but because he was thirsty for US… for ME! Oh, how I desire to quench His thirst! He’s revealed that my mission in this life is to share the love of Christ with those who don’t quite know it yet.

College campuses are filled with young adults who are searching for who they are and their purpose in life… many of them are seeking these answers in all the wrong places. Throughout my time sharing life with others in college, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that the Gospel has on others. About 80% of young adults leave the Catholic faith during their time in college. This is why the mission of FOCUS is so crucial.
