A quick guide on how to determine the vaccines needed for your mission trip.
How do I know what vaccines to get for my trip?
Please refer to the Center for Disease Control website (www.cdc.gov) and your healthcare provider for professional recommendations about your health on your trip. FOCUS Missions is not an authority on this subject and cannot provide advice on any vaccinations or health concerns. These are general guidelines.
Using the CDC website
- Identify the specific trip location for your mission trip.
- This is sent out to all participants via email from the trip director 3 months before departure.
- Go to CDC website at www.cdc.gov
- Select “Destinations” under “Traveler’s Health“

Select your country under the “Where are you going?” drop-down
Review what vaccinations and medications are recommended for your specific mission trip location
Talk with your healthcare provider and determine what vaccinations you need for your trip
COVID requirements

- FOCUS Missions will make all efforts to communicate current COVID requirements for country entry throughout the months leading up to the trip. We will include updates in scheduled emails to participants and will supplement those with additional communications if needed.
- It is possible that the government of the country where you will serve will require that travelers have received a full vaccination dosage. This means that if you, the participant, have not arranged to receive the final dose at least 2 weeks prior to your trip, you may be unable to participate on the mission. It is essential that you bring proper documentation.
- Please note that FOCUS Missions is sharing these requirements as a courtesy to trip participants. Due to the ever-changing nature of COVID and related entry/exit requirements, there remains a possibility of rerouting the trip in order to serve in a location where mission is feasible.
- If any of these conditions pose a challenge to you as the participant, please let your director or FOCUS Missions know as soon as possible to discuss serving on an alternative trip.
