We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
God has called me to serve college students by helping to plan our annual, national conference SEEK! I am on our Conference Events team and a fourth-year missionary excited to serve at our Denver Support Center in Denver, Colorado.
I grew up in South Louisiana and was born and raised Catholic. It wasn’t until my college days that I began to take my faith seriously. I arrived at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Geaux Cajuns!) fairly apathetic and overall unconcerned with anything greater than myself. It wasn’t until someone invited me into the Catholic student center that I realized I was missing something in my life. With the friendship and guidance of many of the students and some of our FOCUS missionaries, I soon returned to mass, the sacraments, and began to truly pray for the first time in my life.
During my sophomore year of college a calling to the priesthood entered my prayer, and at the end of the year, I left UL to pursue the diocesan priesthood at St. Joseph’s Seminary College (Geaux Ravens!). I spent 3 years growing in ways I never knew I needed to and at the end discerned that the priesthood was not what the Lord was inviting me into. FOCUS was an integral part through it all, and I’d like to offer the same gift that I received as a student to those I’ll be serving this year – an opportunity to encounter Christ and His love.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. You can reach me at 985-264-0010 or at dylan.allen@focus.org. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
