My Story

The love of Jesus is immense and eternal! As someone who was raised Catholic, I found it comforting to know that our Lord would always love me. However, that did not stop me from stepping away from the Catholic church and falling into great sin. I had decided that the love of the world was more valuable to me than the love of Jesus. It wasn’t until I had realized that the love of the world is finite that I knew something had to change.

Everyone faces challenges in college, and to say the least I was not a stranger to these challenges. From struggling in school to just needing a community to hold me accountable, I had no clue what I was doing. It wasn’t until the grace of God delivered me to the FOCUS missionaries on campus that I understood why I was there.

From the love my friends showed me to the grace that the Lord placed in my heart, I found a community that would not only love me undoubtably, but would continue to push me to grow in virtue. After feeling lost for so long, I had finally been welcomed back home to Catholic church in March 2026. Because of the FOCUS missionaries on my campus, I now had friends to turn to in times of need, sorrow, and joy.

So many college students suffer in silence and end up resenting their college years. Saying “yes” to being a FOCUS missionary means that I, not only get to lead students to the Gospel, but provide them with true authentic friendship!
