So if you’ve ever wondered, “Who exactly is FOCUS? What do you do? Why do you exist?” consider this your introduction.
Our Mission: To Know Christ Jesus and Fulfill His Great Commission
Everything in FOCUS flows from the words of Jesus, “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
Our work is simple and profoundly rooted in the Catholic Church. We form missionaries anchored in:
- Church Teaching
- Daily Prayer
- The Sacraments
- Scripture
- Evangelization
Then we go onto campuses, into parishes and throughout communities, inviting people into a joyful life with Christ and accompanying them as they grow in faith.
This mission is not abstract. It’s practical, relational and rooted in the belief that every person is made for a transformative friendship with Jesus.
How We Live the Mission: Win, Build, Send
The method we use is the same one Jesus modeled with His first disciples—a simple, deeply relational pathway we call Win, Build, Send.
Win — It starts with a connection.
The first step in evangelization is always relationship. Missionaries meet people where they are and begin with genuine friendship. Invitations to a Bible study, an event or even a simple conversation often become the starting point for encountering Christ.
Who in your life could you invite into deeper friendship or to something as simple as a Bible study or church event?
Build — It’s nurtured in community.
Faith grows when it is shared. Through small groups, discipleship, prayer and the sacraments, missionaries help others learn to imitate Jesus and pursue virtue with courage and joy.
Who could you invite to pray with you this week?
Send — It grows exponentially.
Discipleship always bears fruit. Just as Jesus sent His disciples, we equip each person to share the Gospel with others. Those who have been accompanied learn to accompany. Those who have been invited learn to invite. Mission spreads through ordinary Christians who want others to know the Christ they’ve encountered.
Who could you encourage to lead or walk with someone in faith?
This simple pattern—Win, Build, Send—shapes everything we do. When lived authentically, it transforms lives.
The Big Picture: Why Our Work Matters
People today hunger for meaning, purpose and belonging, yet many have no idea that what they long for is found in Christ.
FOCUS steps into this longing with hope. Through Bible studies, outreach events, mission trips and everyday accompaniment, missionaries introduce people to Jesus and help them pursue lives of virtue and excellence.
Wherever the mission unfolds, the heart remains the same:
Meet people in friendship, invite them to encounter Christ and form them to live the Gospel.
This is how the Great Commission continues today.
Where the Mission Happens
The mission of FOCUS unfolds in several key places:
On College Campuses
Missionaries invest deeply in the lives of college students during a pivotal season of searching and decision-making. Here, many encounter Christ in a new way or rediscover their faith.
In Parish Communities
FOCUS Parish equips priests and parishioners to build cultures of discipleship, where adults and families learn to pray, lead and evangelize within their local communities.
Across the World
Through mission trips and international sites, missionaries serve the poor, share the Gospel and support the life of the Church around the globe.
In Digital Spaces and Beyond
From online evangelization to conferences, retreats and alumni formation, the mission stretches far beyond physical locations, reaching people wherever they are.
Why FOCUS Exists
Because people deserve someone who will walk with them.
Because lives change when faith becomes personal.
Because Jesus’ words were not a suggestion but a command.
Because the world still needs disciples who know Christ, love Him and share His Gospel with joy.
FOCUS exists for that purpose:
To know Christ Jesus
