— Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
“We must sacrifice everything for everything: our ambitions, indeed our entire selves, for the cause of the faith.”
I have the honor of serving the Lord through the students at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington! I will be working alongside an incredible team—Gabby, Fabian, and Luis—as we seek to share the Gospel and walk with students in their faith journey. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to be part of what God is doing in this corner of the state, and I’m excited to witness lives transformed through Christ.
Hi! I’m Gabrielle Johner, a graduate of Whatcom Community College with a degree in Physical Therapist Assistant. For the past 15 years, I’ve been blessed to call Western Washington my home—and now excited to call the eastern side home as well!
I first came to know Christ through the witness of my family, who not only passed down the faith but also helped me see the fullness and beauty of the Catholic Church. This foundation eventually led me to seek a more personal and transformative relationship with Jesus.
It was during my time in Virginia in 2020 that my relationship with Christ truly began to deepen—through consistent prayer, regular confession, daily Mass, and weekly adoration. A year later, I had a powerful encounter with Christ’s healing love and the restoration of my identity. Since then, my journey has been marked by both striving and stumbling. Through it all, I’ve come to know God’s mercy more intimately in my weakness. Initially, I had desired to live out mission as a PTA, but over the past six months, I’ve felt the Lord inviting me to surrender that plan and ask Him how He desires me to live out mission. In the past year, He has opened my eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare—the persistent attacks on joy and identity. This awakening has convicted me of my call to “be a soldier,” as Pope St. John Paul II once encouraged FOCUS missionaries to be. And so now, my “yes” has taken a new form: bringing Christ to the students of Eastern Washington University.
Our Holy Father has urged us to “seek together how to be a missionary Church“—and that mission belongs to all of us. We’re all invited into Christ’s mission, whether that’s on campus, at home, or in your favorite coffee shop with a good rosary in hand. Together, we can help awaken hearts, restore hope, and lead students into the joy and freedom of life with Christ.
I’d love to invite you to partner with me in this mission to bring Christ to college students—through your prayers, and through financial support, if you feel called. Together, we can build up our treasure in Heaven and bring more souls with us to the eternal celebration!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
