We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
As a December graduate, I will serve as a part-time missionary at my own campus, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, until I graduate next semester!
My junior year of college I decided to attend a bible study that was lead by a FOCUS missionary. I didn’t go expecting anything radical, as I have been Catholic my whole life. My first time I was amazed. Watching young women like me taking their faith seriously was beautiful. I became good friends with a few of the missionaries on campus, as I began taking steps toward making the Lord more of the center of my life. I learned that if Jesus truly died for ME, how could I not live a life fully for Him?
When considering the idea of FOCUS for myself, while scary, it seemed like a no-brainer. I desire for so many other women that were just like me to know the love of Jesus. I want to be able to show students how fun and fulfilling a life in friendship with Christ can be.
In soon becoming a full-time missionary, I rely on the spiritual and financial generosity of mission partners so that I am able to go out and encounter students on campus. If you are interested in supporting me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
