We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
My Name is Jonah Kane. I will be serving as a Focus missionary at California State University Long Beach.
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete” John 15:11. In my life, from the beginning until now, it has been a constant search for true and lasting joy. Being born with a physical disability, I was forced to realize that I was seeking that which I could not find except in the Lord. While growing up I was raised nominally Christian, Faith was never that important in my life. However, in middle school my curiosity for Catholicism was enflamed and I began on a desperate search for truth and Joy. Through many friends and teachers in my life, I began to see that this Truth that I sought and joy that I was looking for could only be found in Christ and in His Church. I converted in 8th grade and it has been an adventure to say the least. Truly being loved by Jesus has been the greatest joy I could have ever imagined. Following Jesus has not been easy and I have had to rely on my family and the Catholic community around me to support me in my Faith. I could think of no greater blessing than to share this joy with those I meet. I pray that the Holy Spirit might use me in my weakness to help others see Him.
I am doing Focus because I believe that this is the next step Jesus has called me to take to grow in my own Faith and to seek to help others do the same. I simple cannot do this mission, which is beyond my strength, without the prayers of others and their financial support. If you are interested in coming on mission with me by supporting me with your prayers or your financial support please reach out and schedule a meeting with me. You can reach me at [email protected] or 575-649-1281. God Bless!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
