Hi! My name is Allison Watson and I have been called to serve at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana!

Growing up, I thought I knew what it meant to be Catholic, but during my junior year of college, I discovered what it meant to have a relationship with the Father. That same year, a FOCUS missionary invited me on a mission trip to Brazil. I decided to go at the last minute, not realizing how profoundly it would impact my life. During that trip, I experienced a joy and peace unlike anything I had ever known. It felt like a glimpse of Heaven on Earth. At the same time, I began to see the immense need for missionaries, not only around the world but especially here in our own country. I came to recognize the reality of spiritual poverty on college campuses and the deep longing so many students have for Christ.

When I returned home from my trip, I felt a strong desire to make Christ the center of my life. I began to make Sunday and daily mass a regular part of my schedule, became involved in discipleship, and began leading a Bible study for a group of women. Through leading Bible studies and investing in the lives of other women, I discovered the joy of walking with others in their faith. I came to see how powerful it is when someone is accompanied, encouraged, and challenged to grow closer to Christ. It was through this experience that I fell in love with the mission and felt called to help others encounter Him in the same way.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I also made the decision to rely fully on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help make this mission possible.
