We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am so blessed to begin serving as a part-time missionary at my Newman center, the Detroit Catholic Campus Ministry (DCCM)! After my graduation in December, I will be placed in a new campus for the rest of the year.

I have been blessed to be raised in a Catholic family, where prayer and Mass were greatly integrated into my daily life and cultural practices. We were always serving in our parish and local Christian communities, which is where my heart for service began to bloom. My faith had been a large component of my life, but my perception of God was just a “distant lifeline”.
By the Lord’s Providence, I stumbled upon the Detroit Catholic Campus Ministry (DCCM) within the first week of my freshman year. A missionary invited me to my first ever Bible study, I began discipleship, and frequented the Sacraments and daily prayer. It was through those small encounters, that God began to transform my heart. I realized I was not only called to serve God, but to be in a close, personal relationship with Him. Litte by litte, my desire to know Him grew, while He took center stage in my life. Jesus was no longer just someone I served, but a Father and lifelong friend!
I experienced His outpouring of love through the missionaries that pursued, cared, and shared life with me throughout each semester of my college life. In turn, I longed to give a glimpse of this joy of relationship to other students who may have been just like me.

The wonderful missionaries who invested in me! (Caryn, Jessica & Nataleigh)
I said yes because I encountered love.
As a FOCUS missionary, I rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners. Your generosity allows me to bring students to encounter God’s superabundant love and joy. If you are interested in joining me on mission, please contact me so we can set up time to meet. It would be a blessing to be on mission with you!
“Some go by giving and others give by going. Without both, there is no mission.” – St. Pope John Paul II

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
