Hi!! My name is Angelika and I’m a third-year FOCUS missionary!
“Jesus, You have given me to know and understand in what a soul’s greatness consists: not in great deeds but in great love.” – St. Faustina

The Lord has called me to serve a third year as a full-time missionary with FOCUS at California State University- Fullerton as the Team Director. Tusks up! I have deep confidence that through this yes, He will bring His beloved Son, Jesus, to those who are thirsting for Him at Fullerton and California. I have a pretty wild story about how Jesus met me in my brokenness and called me to Himself and to this mission — I think you should hear it sometime! I’d love to grab a coffee and share it with you. <3

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ through the seemingly small, ordinary moments. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this radiant joy and adventure to others and introduce them to the One who has come to give us life abundantly. It has been the small yet mighty ways, that the Lord has unraveled the story He has written for my life. For so long I tried to ignore that, to run away, just like the Prodigal Son (the song “Runaway” by Jess Ray encapsulates this well). My senior year of college I was chasing dreams in New York City in the fashion world and after a few days of running away from the Father, myself, and the story He was writing in my life, I moved back to Colorado. I didn’t understand what was happening, I was utterly dissatisfied, and didn’t have any friends to turn to. I longed deeply for friendship. But not just any sort of friendship. It was in this very place that the Lord brought me to the FOCUS missionaries and Catholic community at Colorado State University. Jesus began to awaken me to the greatest love story of all through the friends He brought me and the life we were sharing as we prayed and attended Mass and Bible study together.
Indeed, if we will listen, a Sacred Romance calls to us through our heart every moment of our lives. It whispers to us on the wind, invites us through the laughter of good friends, reaches out to us through the touch of someone we love. We’ve heard it in our favorite music, sensed it at the birth of our first child, been drawn to it while watching the shimmer of a sunset on the ocean. “
(The Sacred Romance by John Eldredge)
Through our baptism, we are all called to serve on mission in some way. After interning at the Denver Support Center and living in community for Summer Projects in 2023, the Lord began to place mission with FOCUS on my heart. The nudge was quite consistent and I was very afraid of what it would mean. Like many, I tried to make up excuses but the Lord was very clear that He wanted me to trust Him in this. Time and time again the Lord has held out His hand and said, “Come. Step out of the boat.”
It is an honor to be able to serve the Father in such a particular and incarnational way where I get to enter into students lives and run towards heaven with them, just as Jesus did on earth. As I continue to step out of the boat and walk with Jesus at CSUF, I pray that this moment would completely turn California’s culture towards Christ and that it would be a wellspring of His merciful love.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me the past two years. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and we will work together to set something up. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
