My Story

I grew up Catholic, but I never quite had an intimate relationship with the Lord. When I was young, my Dad passed away, and I remember feeling angry with God, struggling to understand why I had lost my own father.

Through the influence of my grandmother, I was still exposed to the faith and Sacraments. At the time, I did not fully understand the beauty of these practices, but I was still drawn to them! I had the opportunity to visit the Holy Land, where everything clicked for me. For the first time, I truly understood what it meant that Jesus died for me and that through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, we are offered the gift of eternal life.

As a student at the University of Virginia (Wahoowa!), I discovered the importance of virtuous friendships and authentic Catholic community. I witnessed firsthand the impact that FOCUS missionaries had in fostering deeper friendships with the Lord and with one another. Their investment in students challenged me to pursue Christ more intentionally and showed me the beauty of accompanying others in their faith journeys.

I am so excited to begin serving my first year with FOCUS at Virginia Tech! Just as others invested in me and helped me deepen my relationship with the Lord, I am excited to accompany students as they seek to know, love, and serve Him more fully.

When I accepted the Lord’s call to being on mission full time with FOCUS, I also said yes to fully relying on the financial and spiritual support of my mission partners. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to invite you into mission with me and to share this blessing with you! Together, the Lord will work through us to encounter so many students.
