We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am a junior hire at Mississippi State University!
When coming to Mississippi State my freshman year of college, I had no idea what I wanted, but I knew I desired something more than the life that I was living. My whole life, I had sports, relationships, and grades to put my identity in, but once I left home, I was no longer known for the achievements or reputation I once had. Most of my first semester in college, I felt lost, alone, and unsure of who I was. It wasn’t until the end of my first semester that I felt some sense of hope when a missionary asked me to attend the SEEK 2024 conference. Little did I know that this conference would change my life. It was the first time I truly encountered the person of Christ. Jesus met me in my loneliness and struggles and loved me there. After this encounter, I spent the rest of my freshman year becoming more involved in the Catholic community and even started attending a FOCUS Bible study.
My sophomore year, I experienced hardship in a way I never had before. The ending of a relationship began to open my eyes to all the different things I had placed my identity in. This brought to the surface a lot of pressure and anxiety that came from a lack of belief in God’s unique and unconditional love for me. Throughout that year, the Lord stretched me as I began to learn who He truly is and who He says I am. This suffering opened my heart to receive and pour out the love He was always trying to give me.
As I began to live out of this love, I started leading a Bible study and striving to be a vessel for God by intentionally walking with women as they encountered Christ. Shortly after I started leading as a student, I recognized a desire in my heart to commit myself more fully to this mission as a FOCUS missionary. I said yes to this call so that I could have the opportunity to reach other students who feel lost and alone, just as I did, and help them come to know Christ and their true identity in Him.
When I said yes to FOCUS, I said yes to relying on mission partners to support me spiritually and financially to help carry out this mission. Being able to partake in this mission would not be possible without their generosity. My mission partners are the reason I am able to reach the hearts of students who are longing for Christ. I am incredibly thankful to each one of them. If you are interested in hearing my story and joining my mission, let me know the best way to reach you and I can set up an appointment. I would be honored to share in this mission with you. I can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at (573) 225-0674.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
