This year, I have the incredible privilege of serving at the University of Minnesota, and I truly could not be more excited. College is such a pivotal season of life, a time when students are asking some of the deepest questions about who they are, what they were made for, and where they are headed. I am honored to walk alongside them and share the life changing love of Jesus Christ.

What makes this opportunity even more special is that this will be the very first year that FOCUS has a missionary presence at the University of Minnesota. With more than 56,000 students on campus, there are thousands of young men and women searching for meaning, purpose, and hope. Many have never encountered the Gospel in a personal way, and many others have drifted from their faith.

Every one of those students is a soul deeply loved by God and created for something far greater than this world can offer. I am excited to help build a foundation for missionary outreach on campus and invite students into a relationship with Christ that can transform not only their college years, but the rest of their lives.

From small Watertown, Minnesota, to a freshman at the University of Minnesota Duluth, my story began with knowing there was a God—but not what that meant for me. I set foot on campus with no intention of making faith a priority in my life, but God had other plans. I loved the college experience until sophomore year, when I found myself enveloped by darkness and despair. Afraid of vulnerability and honesty, no one knew the depth of my sadness, which was caused by a family illness.

I was continuously invited to Newman events and found a family that made me feel seen, known, and loved. Eventually, SEEK24 transformed my heart and removed the mud from my eyes, revealing a world full of God’s divine love and intimacy. I wanted the same passion and zeal for Jesus as those people on the stage at SEEK. Through Bible study, discipleship, and the sacraments, I became more like Jesus each and every day, desiring a fire not only for my own heart but for the whole world around me!

My “yes” to FOCUS comes from a desire to join the Lord’s army and fight for Him every day! Each person on campus deserves a chance at the same individual investment and love that I received, which is why I want to try and make that a reality.
