We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I serve as a part of the IT team at FOCUS’s Denver headquarters. Here the IT team provides the technological backbone for the entire organization. My particular role on this team is to develop software that keeps FOCUS’s many systems running smoothly.
I first encountered FOCUS in college when I transferred to the University of Toledo in northern Ohio. At this time I was very uncertain about the direction of my life and I didn’t know anyone at this new school. So I asked God to please help me make some good and true friendships.
I decided to look up some clubs on campus and found the Catholic Student Association (CSA). I went to their first meeting of the semester, and was invited to a bible study. It was through this FOCUS bible study that God answered my prayer, as I became great friends with many of the members. They truly cared about me and my relationship with God. We helped one another strive for virtue, and were there to lift each other up. It was through these friendships that I was led to Christ and experienced His love in a deeper way than I had before. The FOCUS missionaries then helped me start my own bible study on campus to be able to invite others into a relationship with Christ, just as I had been.
After graduating with an electrical engineering technology degree I went to work in the tech industry. A few years later God directed me to Denver, and I got to encounter FOCUS again! Joining the mission in a new way, God has prepared me to combine my technical abilities from the industry with my desire to share the gospel. I am so grateful to get to work for this mission, as I want to help give every college student the opportunity to experience Christ’s love for them through a loving community just as I did.
I am so excited to go on this mission with you! Thank you for being a part of spreading the gospel to those who need to hear of Christ’s love for them at such a pivotal point in their lives. Without your support I would seriously not be able to do this work with FOCUS. THANK YOU!
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
