We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Do not be afraid. Open wide the doors to Christ!” -St. John Paul II
I am beyond excited to serve at Grand Valley State University in Michigan with my incredible team!
I was born and raised Catholic in Yakima, Washington surrounded and supported by a large and wonderful family! I first encountered Jesus when I was young and knew that He was truly someone that I not only loved, but considered my friend. However, after experiencing certain hardships throughout high school, I began to turn to other means to numb the hurt and find a means to fit in.
By the time I began my freshman year at Seattle Pacific University, I was successfully living a double life in which I would attend Mass every Sunday but spend the rest of my free time living apart from the faith. It wasn’t until I was encountered by a FOCUS missionary after Christmas break that this began to change. Clare Stevens was the missionary who invited me to the SEEK Conference where I had a profound encounter with the Lord and knew that I needed to change.
After that experience, I chose to devote myself entirely to the Lord and to go wherever He calls. This eventually led me to transferring to the University of Mary to further my formation. As I approached graduation, I felt the call to use my formation to lead others as a FOCUS Missionary to encounter with the Lord as Clare had done for me.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
