I’m currently serving my mission right here at Carroll College in Montana—the very school where I’m finishing my degree! It’s been such a rewarding experience to serve in the Helena area while student teaching and being part of the community that has shaped me. I’m excited to continue this journey as I prepare to transition to a new school in January!

I grew up in a small town in Oregon with a wonderful family. Faith was always around, but it wasn’t something I had made central to my own life. Like many people, I found my identity in the things I did—in school, sports, friendships—or in who I could be for others. (And as a twin, sometimes it felt like I wasn’t even sure where I began and my sister ended!) That constant striving left me feeling anxious, uncertain, and honestly, a little lost.

Everything changed when I transferred to Carroll College going into my sophomore year. It was there that I met students involved with FOCUS. Something about them was different. The way they lived—with joy, freedom, and deep love—sparked something in me. I wanted that.

Through their witness and friendship, I began learning how to pray, how to build a relationship with Jesus, and most importantly, how to root my identity in being a daughter of God. It was at a retreat that I first felt the love of the Lord in a real way—quiet and powerful. I still remember sitting by the lake, looking out across the water, and imagining Him sitting there too, in a green Adirondack chair, just waiting for me. That moment stayed with me.

Now that I’ve encountered the love of Christ, I want nothing more than to share it. I want to reach others who, like me, might be living with uncertainty, anxiety, or feeling like they don’t know who they really are. I want to point them toward the light of Christ—the one who brings purpose, joy, and a love that never fades—so He can wrap them up in His love, and they can come to know their true worth and identity as beloved sons and daughters of God.

When I said “yes” to the call to join FOCUS, I also said “yes” to trusting God to provide through the generosity of mission partners—people who believe in this mission just as much as I do. I’ve been incredibly blessed by the amazing friends and supporters who’ve walked alongside me as I serve on campus. If you’re interested in being part of this mission, I’d love to connect with you!
