Hey! My name’s Camila. I’m a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

After serving as an on-campus missionary at the University of Miami, I’m now working as a Retreat Specialist with the FOCUS Retreat Team. In this capacity, I’ll have the privilege of providing specialized coaching to empower our on-campus missionaries in bringing impactful retreat experiences to their campuses. My time at Miami has been filled with profound growth and cherished relationships, and I’m excited to continue serving in this new capacity, contributing to FOCUS’s mission with renewed passion and dedication. My Story

College for me was the time that my faith stopped being a “me and my Family” Thing and started to become something I wanted to live out with others. After high school, I realized that my heart longed for intentional friendships that lasted longer than a school year. I moved around a lot, so being able to stay in one place for four years seems like the best place to give my faith-based friendships a try.

Once I met what I now consider my sisters, I saw just how much it matters to be able to live out my faith in all aspects of my life. There is freedom when Christ is the center of everything. Being able to have friends who hold you accountable and want your holiness as much as their own is a powerful gift and a witness.

During my senior year of college, I felt the Lord call me to share what I had learned with my sisters and take it a step further- so I decided to join my Catholic campus ministry and there the Lord continued to show me the need for sisterhood and the beauty that it brings. Having seen those fruits on campus, my heartfelt tugged and the Lord called me further into mission with FOCUS and I am so grateful I said YES!

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
