God has called me to serve as a missionary at Minnesota State University-Mankato! I am excited to walk alongside students with my team, go mavs!!

I met a FOCUS missionary on the very first Sunday of my freshman year of college. At the time, I had a plan for my faith life: go to Sunday Mass, maybe throw up a prayer before a tough exam, and otherwise live out the typical college lifestyle—full of worldly attachments and distractions. But this missionary knew the love of Christ. As our friendship grew, she gently and lovingly revealed the truth to me: the things I was chasing for fulfillment were leaving me empty, and they always would. Only Jesus Christ can truly satisfy the deepest desires of the human heart. I was doubtful at first, but little by little, through Bible Study, Newman Center events, and the virtuous Catholic community at the University of Iowa, I began to believe this truth. Encountering Jesus’ love personally at the Seek conference my sophomore year and on a pilgrimage to Poland solidified my conviction that this is what I wanted to live for. As I began leading other students in Bible Study and Discipleship, my heart was set on fire for Jesus Christ. I developed a deep desire to grow in love for him through prayer, friendship, and especially the Eucharist, and to make him known to others. Now, I’m so excited and grateful to live out this mission full time as a FOCUS missionary: sharing the love of Jesus with college students desperate for this love.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
