We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“The LORD’s acts of mercy are not exhausted, his compassion is not spent; They are renewed each morning— great is your faithfulness! The LORD is my portion, I tell myself, therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:22-24
I am excited to serve as a first-year missionary on the campus of South Dakota School of Mines! I will serve alongside my teammates: Joe, Abigail, Kevin, and Jacob. I am blessed to have this opportunity to encounter the souls of these students and walk with them on our way to heaven in becoming future saints!
I grew up in the small town of Beulah, North Dakota. I was raised Lutheran by my parents, alongside my two older brothers. During my freshman year of high school, my friend invited me to a Steubenville conference where I had a profound encounter with Jesus and the Catholic Church. After this, I knew I desired to become Catholic. However, it wasn’t until college that an even deeper conversion and encounter with Jesus took place.
I attended college at North Dakota State University, with a major in Elementary Education. There, I received an invitation through a FOCUS missionary to a daily Mass. My life began to be transformed. I began to say yes—going to Bible studies, retreats, daily Mass, surrounding myself with virtuous friendships, and starting to learn how to pray daily. Through this, Jesus gently tended to my heart and began to show me how to live for Him and not for the world.
This is never easy, but through the missionaries, Newman Center, sacraments, and prayer, Jesus continues to show me daily how much He desires me to be His beloved daughter. This has all led me to my yes to becoming a missionary. I desire to extend the same love, invitations, and formation to college students that missionaries extended to me. Together, we can get to heaven!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. It is only through your generosity that I am able to serve Our Lord in this mission that is crucial for the Church. If you desire to help serve alongside me on mission in this way, please reach out to me! I would love to meet you and share the amazing ways the Lord is changing my heart and the hearts of college students.
God bless!
