We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I serve at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado!
I used to think that clarity came with time — that the older I got, the more certain I’d feel about my future, my purpose, and what God was asking of me. But if I’m being honest, college proved that theory wrong. There were moments of excitement and joy, of course, but there were also long stretches of restlessness and doubt. I found myself asking questions I didn’t know how to answer: Why am I here? What am I supposed to do with my life? Is God even listening?
It was during one of those quiet spells of uncertainty that I started spending more intentional time in prayer. Not because I was feeling holy, but because I was desperate. And something unexpected happened. God didn’t respond with a booming voice or a flashing sign. Instead, He showed up slowly, gently, through people who loved me well, Scripture that spoke directly to my heart, and a growing sense of peace that didn’t always make sense. I didn’t get all the answers I wanted, but I started to trust that I didn’t need them in order to move forward.
One of the biggest moments of clarity came when I realized how many other students around me were feeling the exact same way. Lost, disconnected, hungry for something real. I saw in them what I had experienced myself — a longing for purpose, identity, and truth. That’s when the Lord began to stir something new in me: a desire to walk with others the way people had walked with me. To be present, to share the Gospel, and to remind them that they are deeply loved and never alone.
That calling led me to convert to Catholicism and eventually to FOCUS. Saying yes to being a missionary wasn’t something I had planned. But the more I prayed, the more it felt like the right next step — not because I have it all figured out, but because I’ve seen firsthand how God moves through friendship, vulnerability, and presence. I want to be a part of that work. I want to help students discover that life with Jesus is not only possible, it’s better than anything they could have imagined.
When I said yes to serving with FOCUS, I chose to trust in the generosity of mission partners for both spiritual and financial support. They are a big part of the success of the mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please reach out and we can set up a meeting. It would truly be a blessing to share in the mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
