We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! I am Christopher Foster, and and I am privileged to serve as a Senior Mission Specialist with FOCUS. Together with my wife, Magen, and our daughter, Elizabeth, we invite you to join us on mission!
I serve on the FOCUS Missions Team based in Denver, Colorado, where I help organize international and domestic mission trips for college students and parishes. In this role, I train and coach missionaries to lead successful trips that serve the poor in charity and truth. I will also have the privilege of leading and serving on a few of these mission trips myself. Our ultimate mission is to make disciples of all nations by serving the physical and spiritual needs of the poor worldwide, bringing participants into a radical, life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ and His Church.
Growing up, God blessed me with a wonderful family and parents who modeled a life of service and taught me the importance of giving. But somewhere along the way, my desire to do well twisted into a need to be noticed, and I eventually fell into the trap of relying on external approval to validate my identity. I let others and the world dictate who I was, who I should be, and what I should be doing. Driven by that mindset, my focus narrowed to personal happiness, success, and reputation—completely crowding out the deeper questions: Who am I? What is my purpose? How can I serve others?
I poured my energy into pursuing worldly achievements, but the closer I got to those goals, the more empty I felt. These victories felt hollow, and I was left tired of striving for the approval of others, searching for a happiness the world simply couldn’t give.
While faith has always been a part of my life, it has grown immensely through my childhood, college, and professional experiences. Recently, I felt an intense desire to radically say ‘yes’ to God. For me, that meant leaving behind the security of my career in the medical device industry, surrendering my own desires for achievement, moving our family from Minnesota to Denver, Colorado, and focusing on the greatest pursuit anyone can have, not just for myself, but in helping others to know and be known by God in His unceasing love. Jesus thirsts to know you and desires for you to be secure in your identity as a beloved son or daughter of our Heavenly Father. Let us find our true selves by making a gift of ourselves in service to others!
When our family answered the call to join FOCUS, we made the radical decision to step away from traditional careers and rely entirely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to fund our livelihood and ministry. We took this leap because we are convinced there is nothing more important in this world than helping others truly know God and inviting them into a deep, life-changing relationship with Him and His Church.
Because of this total reliance, we can only serve at the capacity we do because of the generosity of people like you. By partnering with us, you are directly making it possible to serve the poor, mentor missionaries, and transform the hearts of this generation. You are not just funding a job; you are co-laboring in the harvest.
We would be deeply honored to share this journey with you and run together toward Christ. If you are interested in partnering with our family, please let us know the best way to reach you, or feel free to connect with us directly via call, text, or email. We would love to talk with you and hear how Jesus is calling you to live out His Great Commission!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
