Where I serve

Hi! I am currently a FOCUS missionary at Minnesota State University in Mankato! I will be focusing on student-athlete outreach. As a former athlete, I am pumped to help lead athletes into a deeper relationship with God.

My Story

Growing up in Broomfield, Colorado I was blessed to grow up in a Catholic family that exposed me to many experiences to the faith and encouraged me to take it seriously. As I grew up, I devoted a lot of time to athletics and worked hard to be the best I could be. While this was happening, I treated my relationship with God as more about checking a box by going to Mass rather than truly knowing Him.

I ended up going to college at the University of Oregon for a year before transferring to the University of Sioux Falls to play collegiate golf. When I got to campus in Sioux Falls, my worth became completely tied to how I performed on the course. Obviously this didn’t unfold too well, as I realized that no matter how I performed, I always felt empty inside. It was never golf or sports that could fill the hole in my heart, but only Christ Himself. During my sophomore year, I went on a mission trip through FOCUS that changed my life. Through authentic friendship and discipleship, I realized that God desired my whole heart and that true identity is found not in achievements, but as a son of God.

Since then, I have been learning what it means to keep Christ at the center of my life rather than treating faith as a routine. My journey has shown me that success and sports can never satisfy the deepest desires of the heart in the way a relationship with Jesus can. I am deeply grateful that Christ has reached me through another FOCUS missionary, and for the chance to share this life with others so that “they may have life, and have it more abundantly” (Jn 10:10).

Your Impact

God used my love for sports and experiences in golf to show me that my Identity is found in Him and not in anything else. Through FOCUS, I saw an opportunity to stay in the sports world, and help athletes grow closer to Christ. God is using my life in athletics to spread the gospel and lead others to encounter Him.
