We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I serve FOCUS as a Senior Alumni Mission Manager ensuring alumni, their parishes, and communities foster lifelong mission.
I have had the privilege to serve the Church in various roles. My missionary call began as a campus missionary at Texas State University and UMKC. Following my time, I left FOCUS staff to be a parish youth minister and diocesan youth ministry staff in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for 10 years as well as serving with two other Catholic apostolates. Responding to the call to be back fully on mission and ever more convinced of the mission of FOCUS, I rejoined staff to galvanize alumni and support the communities they are reaching.
I found myself in college knowing my faith was important but not knowing what to do with it. My encounter with FOCUS missionaries was the catalyst for desiring to serve God by bringing others into relationship with Him.
Two weeks after graduation in 2011, my newly married wife and I set out on mission with FOCUS at Texas State (eat ’em up cats) and UMKC (go roos!). As we welcomed our first child, we then served the local Church in St. Louis for 10 years. Using the gifts and skills given by God, and mentored by others, I served other missions, bringing the truths of the dignity of the human person to communities, young people, and parishes. Ever present in our time as a family was staying connected with FOCUS as alumni helping foster discipleship in our parishes, friends, and fellow former missionaries.
Today, with 7 (and one on the way) kids, my wife Reese and I see the clear need and opportunity to ensure missionaries and students who began the mission of “making Christ Jesus known” continues in the communities they live after college and staff. With your support we can continue the work of the Great Commission in our parishes, neighborhoods, and schools by (re)igniting our alumni to continue on lifelong mission of “The Little Way of Evangelization”.
Imagine your parish, workplace, friend group, family being a community of mission!

When I said yes to being a FOCUS missionary, I also said yes to relying on the spiritual and financial assistance of many generous individuals and families. It is continually humbling to be able to receive just that from so many people who share my same enthusiasm for sharing the Gospel message.
If you are interested in partnering with me or just hearing more about my work, please let me know the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. Email me at [email protected] or click the ‘Support Joe’ link above. Thank you!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
