“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire!”
-St. Catherine of Siena
My name is Ella Kate Aucoin, and I am so excited to be serving as a first-year missionary at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia! Go owls!
Growing up, I encountered God at a very young age, learning myself how to pray in moments where I did not know where to turn. Going to a Catholic school, I desired the beauty of the faith, though I did not understand its’ fullness just yet. I felt God’s closeness in my times of trial – I just was not sure how to live out the faith.
As I grew older, despite the way the Lord had called me to Him, I replaced God’s love that was in my heart with many things. It was not until in my junior year of High School that I came to experience the fullness of God’s love for me through the Eucharist in adoration. This set a fire in my heart that allowed me to desire to serve God, but I was not sure where to start. Though I did not realize, I needed formation and people to walk with me through the faith.
As I went to college, I felt the Lord calling me to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It was here that I found the Catholic student center and was blessed with a beautiful community, became immersed in prayer, and the sacraments. There, I was asked into discipleship, a formation program through FOCUS in which I was walked with in the ways of the faith. Because of my encounter with discipleship and with the FOCUS missionaries at my campus, I learned to live out the Catholic faith with confidence and walk with others as well. Approaching graduation, the desire to walk with other college students as my full-time job was burned into my heart. The Lord asked me to work for Him and His Church, and with much joy in my heart, I said yes to becoming a FOCUS missionary.
The critical work that is being done on campus to bring souls to Christ could not become possible without mission partners, the people that give to my mission through prayer and financial support. Through saying yes and making this gift of yourself, you are not only helping to bring students closer to Christ, but also coming on this mission with me. If you are interested in serving the Lord through becoming my mission partner, I would be honored to meet with you and have you serve alongside me.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
